Position
Responsibilities
  • Preside over all meetings
  • Enforce the Constitution, by-laws, traditions, rituals, laws, and rules of the Zeta Chi Fraternity
  • Have all powers as in Robert's Rules of Order
  • Require attendance to all chapter meetings, excusing members only for a good cause
  • Appoint all committees and official representatives, and to remove such officials who neglect their duties
  • Appoint an active member to a vacancy in the officer corps, if one exists
  • Within proper boundaries, promote the Fraternity
  • Assume the Presidency in the President's absence
  • Keep custody of the OFFICIAL copy of the Constitution
  • Be familiar with the Constitution and rules
  • Bring the Constitution and by-laws to each meeting
  • Write all amendments into the Constitution
  • Serve as an ex-officio member on all committees
  • To assist the President
  • Publish the Fraternity paper-the HUB
  • Keep the OFFICIAL copy of all minutes and records
  • Read the previous meeting's minutes
  • Attend to all correspondence otherwise not delegated, and to keep records of such correspondence
  • Send appropriate alumni invitations to Fraternity functions
  • Collect all moneys due to the chapter, and to pay all bills owed by the Fraternity. Disbursements of more than five dollars ($5.00) require both authorization from the President and one other officer, other than the Treasurer
  • Keep an accurate and true account of all Fraternity moneys
  • To post a current list of active members not meeting their financial obligations
  • Present documented proof of financial status to the President, at all meetings, to be included in the minutes
  • Fraternity financial records and funds shall be given to the Zeta Chi advisor when Lakeland University is not in session
  • Provide for the spiritual well-being of the chapter members
  • Provide and maintain a record of Fraternity functions to record the history of the fraternity
  • Promote a favorable image of the Fraternity
  • Maintain an accurate listing of former active members
  • Maintain order that the chapter meetings and functions
  • Carry out requests of the presiding officer
  • Serve as the executive manager of the Fraternity room
  • Distribute keys to new actives and collect keys from inactive members and former active members 
  •  Hold regular meetings with the pledges
  • To be in charge of pledge development, education, and training
  • Serve as a liaison between the pledges and the active members
  • Perform all other duties under this office
  • To assist the Pledgemaster
  • Head study tables for the pledges during Hell Week
  • To assume the role of Pledgemaster in his absence
  • Plan and execute a well-balanced plan of social functions
  • Negotiate and arrange all professional presentations of the Fraternity
  • To plan and execute service programs for the chapter 
  • To provide assistance in the production of the HUB
  • Oversee the mailings, documentation, events, and lives of our former active members
  • Responsible for finding, recording, and updating files on alumni of the Zeta Chi Fraternity
  • Responsible for documentation of chapter coincidence with Lakeland University group requirements
